Artist’s Statement:

The allure of the ordinary animates my work.

Based on photos I take while going about my daily life, my realist drawings distill a moment of tension or ambiguity. If you’re not completely sure what’s going on, I’ve accomplished my goal.

Drawing is the medium of the ordinary. Like ordinary life – drawings are built up over time, using the simplest and most accessible tools – pencil, paper, charcoal and chalk.
