My work grew out of my ordinary life. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, I attended Northwestern University (BA), and then stayed in the Chicago area. As I drove the length and breadth of Indiana to visit family frequently, I began to pay attention to the Indiana landscape – an ordinary landscape to be sure. And there, on my travels, my interest in the ordinary began.
In 2004, I received my MFA from the University of Chicago. From 2006 – 2017, I was adjunct faculty in Fine Arts at Indiana University Northwest in Gary, IN.
Since 2018, I have been fighting colon cancer and making my work.
I am an Indiana Artisan. Despite COVID 19 my drawings are still available for in person viewing at the Indiana Artisan Gallery in Carmel, Indiana.
